Wildwood Sailing Club
A small gathering stayed for the club supper of smoked pork chops with an assortment of delicious salads and desserts to follow!
Following the fabulous supper, Rob called the AGM to order and presented the Peter Case Awards to 4 very deserving club members: Chris for her work on the 50th Anniversary Celebration; Hans for his work on the completing the new shed; Donal for his great stewardship of the grounds especially in preparation for the anniversary celebration and Margrit for her work on the Anniversary dinner & as Social Committee director for the last 8 years. Club members who receive these awards are recognized for the extraordinary efforts they make on behalf of the club. Thank you to them all!
Rob will be stepping down as Commodore at the end of this season. Gerry, the Past Commodore, thanked Rob for the tremendous work he has done on behalf of the club. Les will be stepping into the role of commodore next year!
The positions of Social Committee Director and Information Officer are still available so please consider getting involved. Wildwood Sailing Club is a co-operative club that needs all hands on deck!
There was a good turnout for the final sailing rally of the 2017 season with about a dozen sailboats on the water. The wind was up and the cloudy skies became sunny and blue as the afternoon wore on!
Sailors went in search of 5 nautical flags posted from the dam down to rock bay, and even when it was clear that people had collected all of their letters, many stayed out to enjoy the almost perfect sailing weather.
